WINFARTHING RIFLE CLUB
Range Improvement Works
We are open again for prone shooting!
The construction of the new firing point has been completed, getting us one step closer to offer 3P Air rifle & Benchrest/Seated .22 shooting.
The next phase involves some minor work to the range itself, to ensure we satisfy the safety angles for standing/seating shooting - Keep an eye on our facebook page to see how the work is progressing.
If you are thinking of joining, or are just looking for some information about us, please fill in the contact form. and we will get back to you with more details.

NEWS
ELECTRONIC TARGETS
Sometimes it pays to wait, and certainly the choice of Inband target systems has proved that. We have just taken delivery of our first unit, and it not only appears to be an excellent machine, but it is really competitively priced
Early tests are encouraging, although they have thrown up challenges. For example, the firing point monitor has to 'talk' to the target. Sometimes they ignore each other!
These are early teething troubles, and meantime Tim Webster was the mug who 'volunteered' to test the unit. Imagine the scene:
Your chums are looking at the screen to see:
a) Does the silly thing actually work?
b) Can Tim really shoot?
The Inband system is compact, approx 400mm wide and uses sound sensors to work out where the shot is located
The 'brain' converts
the shot location information and sends the coordinates by Bluetooth to your computer
Tim was happy with the
results (phew!) and
commented that the unit worked in a very similar
manner to other systems
he had used
on full-bore ranges
THE NORFOLK OPEN-a great success
We were approached by the NCRA to see if we might run this Open shoot. After careful consideration, we agreed to try our hand. The Club really pulled together and the following pictures show a fantastic team effort.
Participants seemed to enjoy shooting with us, particularly liking the team of helpers who changed targets for them. A great effort by everyone and we look forward to welcoming the region's marksmen back for another Open shoot in the near future.
The Norfolk Summer Open was a great success,
hugely helped by our sponsors CTS DIY Ltd and

Work-Party Autumn 2023
Every so often, some-one says that the old place needs a bit of a tidy-up. You think 'there might be the odd bit of dusting' and then take a closer look and find the target holders are falling apart, the door cill is rotten, the cobwebs have cobwebs, and the grass is like a jungle. So a great group of enthusiasts chipped in, and we got a lot done. Thank you everyone!
